Gene therapy, stem cells, and most recently genome editing via CRISPR/CAS9 are among the terms/ methodology that continue to ignite the imagination of all biologists. They hold the potential to overcome previously incurable diseases or even pave the way to genetically designed generations. Although advances in these fields continue at a staggering pace and it seems that we have arrived at our destination, it is sometimes hard to distinguish fiction from reality.
