Utilizing spiritual intelligence and workplace spirituality in creating collective awareness: the U-journey perspective
    (2024) Baykal, Elif
Theory U is a process-driven, learning, progress-directed, transformative, and relational approach to social change. This approach is predicated on the idea that spirituality may be used to create communal consciousness through change management. Dealing with spiritual hurdles, practicing meditation, improving sensing, staying in flow, and conceiving are just a few of the special skills needed for success on the U-journey. Spiritual intelligence also includes adaptive problem solving and goal achievement approaches. Theory-U holds that sources other than the outmoded paradigms that gave rise to complex problems are where answers to them must come from. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how individuals exposed to workplace spirituality can make better use of their spiritual intelligence. By using spiritual intelligence, people can attain the kind of awareness and engagement required for collective awareness, and this makes sense when we examine awareness awakening processes from the perspective of the U-journey.

Editorial: Boosting positivity by utilizing spirituality as a tool for recovery: Post-pandemic process
(Frontiers Media SA, 2023) Baykal, Elif; Bhatti, Omar Khalid; Farooq, Waqas
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, people were confronted with several drastic experiences that led to fear and uncertainty. In traumatic times like the COVID-19 pandemic, spirituality can act as a healing agent for the immune system, helping to promote mental health and pave the way for a more positive psychological state. Many researchers in positive psychology argue that one of the most important roles of spirituality is to promote greater peace of mind and reduce anxiety (Arslan and Yildirim, 2021; Baykal, 2022)

The conceptual review on the impact of organizational justice on workplace deviance and the mediating role of psychological contract breach
(Canadian Institute for Knowledge Development (CIKD), 2022) Chaudhary, Shuja İlyas; Bhatti, Omar Khalid; Çıpran, Hüseyin; Bajwa, Ali Haider
The prevalence of deviant behavior such as fraud, robbery, withholding effort, hostile acts, and sexual harassment in the workplace is a major problem for organizations. For good reasons, it is highly significant for executives and researchers to avoid deviant activity in the workplace. A recent report revealed that employees are found to be more involved than customers in deviant activities at the workplace. One in every fifteen employees steals from their employer. " The study finds that 33 to 75% of all workers have participated in deviant behaviors, and as many as 42% of women have been sexually abused at work. This article aims to analyze the phenomena of workplace deviance and destruction caused by workplace deviance in the form of huge psychological and financial losses to organizations. First, we discuss the need for research on workplace deviance, especially in the collectivistic culture, by reviewing previous studies from deviance literature. Next, we present the role of organizational justice in triggering workplace deviance. Then we also propose a new mediating variable in the form of a Psychological Contract Breach between Organizational justice and Workplace deviance. This paper also contributes significantly to the dimensions/facets of Organizational Justice. The presented theoretical framework can be useful for conducting future empirical research. Finally, we present the conclusion and future research in conducting cross-national research with respect to workplace deviance.

E-leadership and teleworking in times of COVID-19 and beyond: What we know and where do we go
(Frontiers Media S.A., 2020) Contreras, Francoise; Baykal, Elif; Abid, Ghulam
Suddenly, COVID-19 has changed the world and the way people work. Companies had to accelerate something they knew was imminent in the future, but not immediate and extremely humongous. This situation poses a huge challenge for companies to survive and thrive in this complex business environment and for employees, who must adapt to this new way of working. An effective e-leadership, which promotes companies' adaptability, is needed. This study investigates the existing knowledge on teleworking and e-leadership; and analyzes the supposed challenges. The literature review shows that companies with effective e-leadership can view teleworking as an opportunity. It is advantageous for not only companies' productivity but also the environment and people who work remotely. However, a traditional or no leadership can result in some risks. Thriving in remote work environments implies that managers must adjust the companies' structure, making them less hierarchical, and developing new abilities to establish a strong and trustworthy relationship with their employees to maintain their competitiveness, while retaining a genuine concern for their employees' well-being. Similarly, successful e-leadership must be able to consolidate and lead effective virtual teams to accomplish organizational goals. This study contributes to the literature and leaders during the pandemic.
