Öğe Addressing renewable energy investments with a strategic perspective(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd., 2023) Karakeçe, ErcanThis chapter will focus on renewable energy investments in sustainable business projects from a strategic management and entrepreneurial perspective. It will be questioned what the concept of energy is/should be from the perspective of managers and entrepreneurs. For this purpose, it will start with the significance of energy for these two viewpoints and persist in its linkage with the requirements of energy acquisitions. The subject of energy and energy investments will be associated with concepts such as sustainability, interaction with environmental factors, and competitiveness. To address these concerns, SWOT analysis, resource dependence model, Porter's five forces analysis, the environmental Kuznets curves hypothesis, and strategy tripod perspective-therefore, resource, industry, and institutional-based approaches-will be examined and interpreted with energy and energy investments. In addition, soft issues related to energy will be discussed from the perspective of the entrepreneur, and it will be emphasized that energy and energy investments should be addressed more comprehensively. As a result of all these efforts, it is aimed to contribute to a more stable system for a sustainable and competitive energy policy.Öğe Analysis of the effects of macroeconomic factors on entrepreneurship: An application on E7 countries(IGI Global, 2022) Ersin, İrfan; Karakeçe, ErcanEntrepreneurship is an important field in the increase and diversification of investments in a country. Entrepreneurship is gaining importance in today's world where financial marketing has become an important sector. The aim of this study is to determine the macroeconomic factors that determine entrepreneurship in E7 countries. In the study using logit method, the period of 1992-2018 was discussed. In the analysis results, the variables of unemployment, financial loans and current account deficit were found to be macroeconomic factors determining entrepreneurship. Given that entrepreneurship is important in the financial field, E7 countries should take into account the financial credit markets, focus on economic policies to reduce unemployment and address the current account deficit problem.Öğe Determining the importance of domestic firms on stock market performance in terms of financial marketing: An application on oecd countries(IGI Global, 2019) Ersin, İrfanThis chapter examines the relationship between stock market value of domestic firms traded in stock markets in OECD countries and stock index for 1990-2018period. As a result of Pedroni Panel Cointegration and Dumitrescu-Hurlin Panel Causality Analysis, there is a relationship between the market values of domestic firms traded on the stock exchange and the stock index. In addition, a two-way causality relationship was found. This situation indicates that this relationship is very powerful. For this purpose, it is mentioned in both physical and other factors to reach business success in competitive markets.Öğe The effects of trade wars between us and china on the financial performances of the companies(Springer, 2020) Duran, Selman; Ersin, İrfanTariffs that the USA has implemented in some products toward China have recently caused trade wars. Trump, who was elected US president in 2016, triggered trade wars due to his protectionist attitude towards China. That’s why trade wars officially started in 2018. This attitude of Trump influenced also the stock exchanges of the two countries as well as the trade relations of the two major economies. While our study provides information about the US-China trade wars, it empirically tested the relationship of this war with the stock markets of both countries. The relationship between exports made mutually by the USA and China and the stock exchange is analyzed using the Engle-Granger cointegration method. In this study, which was used monthly data for the period 2016–2019, a long-term relationship between exports and stock market is detected for both countries. Considering the global economy within the framework of this relationship, it is seen important that the two countries withdraw commercial wars and go for an agreement.
