Öğe Wind power plant as a city skyline and city energy center: The case of Çatalca(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Alçiçek, Adem BağışThe energy demand in cities around the world increases as residential areas and industrial areas increase. Today, the quality of energy is important in the energy production phase in response to the energy demand. Energy production methods are becoming more and more preferred, with the least harm to the environment. Compared to its wind energy counterparts, it stands as a more environmentally friendly type of energy. Wind power plants are used for wind energy production and these structures are increasing on a global scale. In line with the global trend, Türkiye also gets its share from it. The largest district of the country’s economically largest province in terms of surface area is quite prone to the installation of the aforementioned wind power plants in terms of various features. Carrying the importance it had in the past in terms of defense strategy, water resources and agriculture in terms of energy production, Çatalca is gaining a new urban silhouette with the increase in wind power plants. It is also evolving into a city energy centre. These developments seem to herald a rapid urban transformation for Çatalca.Öğe Wind energy as a zero-emission energy source: Evaluation in the framework of Turkish law(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Dilaveroğlu, ErgünIn today’s world, the use of fossil fuels continues intensively. However, the decrease in raw materials and the damage caused by fossil fuels to the environment every day encourage countries to develop policies toward sustainable energy resources and to introduce legislation for the use of these resources in their domestic legal systems. Another situation that encourages the orientation toward sustainable energy sources is the military intervention of countries against each other or the possibility of such a possibility occurring at any time. It can be said that this situation also caused unpredictable increases in fossil fuel prices. In addition, a country’s dependence on foreign energy is a situation that directly affects its economic independence. As a result, the use of clean energy resources is increasing day by day due to many reasons mentioned above, and legal regulations are made for this. In this context, the main purpose of the study is to try to deal with wind energy, which is one of the sustainable clean energy sources, and its application and procedure in Turkey in the context of the Turkish legal system. In addition, the choice of wind energy in the study can be expressed as the most common among renewable energy sources.
