Öğe Evaluation of the distribution of mechanoreceptors in the hip joint with severe coxarthrosis in 9 patients: A histologic and stereological study(Elsevier Masson s.r.l., 2022) Tekin, Bahar; Bilgili, Mustafa Gökhan; Edipoğlu, Erdem; Şentürk, G. E.; Kolbaşı, Bircan; Shojaolsadati, Paria; Atasever, AlperDue to its high mobility, hip joint plays a crucial role in executing many movements such as standing, sitting, running, crouching. The distribution of mechanoreceptors and neural elements in anatomical structures that provide stabilization of the hip joint is important in determining the optimal surgical incision site for the hip joint stabilizers in patients with coxarthrosis. Various studies have been conducted about the mechanoreceptors and distribution of neural elements in structures such as the transvers acetabular ligament, teres (round) ligament of femur, acetabular labrum and hip joint capsule with using various staining methods. To our knowledge, there is insufficient information about the mechanoreceptor distribution within the anatomic structures that participate in stabilization of the hip joint. This study is planned to examine the distribution of mechanoreceptors in the transverse acetabular ligament, teres ligament, acetabular labrum and joint capsule in samples obtained during the surgery who are operated for hip replacement surgery due to severe coxarthrosis. Each specimen was stained with silver impregnation technique and density of mechanoreceptors were estimated by stereological method. Teres ligament has the highest number of mechanoreceptors among all other specimens. Within the joint capsule, mechanoreceptors were most abundant at its antero-inferior part, whereas its anterior part contained the lowest number of mechanoreceptors. These results suggest that, as the anterior part of hip capsule bears the lowest number of mechanoreceptors, it might be safer for incision during total hip arthroplasty surgery.Öğe The effect of calpain inhibitor-I on copper oxide nanoparticle-induced damage and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in a rat model(2024) Karimkhani, Hadi; Shojaolsadati, Paria; Yiğitbaşı, Türkan; Kolbaşı, Bircan; Emekli, NeslinThis study aimed to investigate the effects of the calpain inhibitor N-Acetyl-Leu-Leu-norleucinal (ALLN) on neuroapoptotic cell damage caused by Copper Oxide Nanoparticles (CuO-NP) and exacerbation of damage through brain ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) in a rat model. Male Wistar Albino rats (n=80) were divided into eight groups: Control, I/R, CuO-NP, CuO-NP+I/R, I/R+ALLN, CuO-NP+ALLN, CuO-NP+I/R+ALLN, and DMSO. Biochemical markers (MBP, S100B, NEFL, NSE, BCL-2, Cyt-C, Calpain, TNF-?, Caspase-3, MDA, and CAT) were measured in serum and brain tissue samples. Histological examinations (H&E staining), DNA fragmentation analysis (TUNEL) were performed, along with Caspase-3 assessment. The ALLN-treated groups exhibited significant improvements in biochemical markers and a remarkable reduction in apoptosis compared to the damaged groups (CuO-NP and I/R). H&E and Caspase-3 staining revealed damage-related morphological changes and reduced apoptosis in the ALLN-treated group. However, no differences were observed among the groups with TUNEL staining. The findings suggest that ALLN, as a calpain inhibitor, has potential implications for anti-apoptotic treatment, specifically in mitigating neuroapoptotic cell damage caused by CuO-NP and I/R.Öğe The magnetic resonance imaging evaluation of morphometry of the distal femur and proximal tibia on adult anatolian population(Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications, 2020) Shojaolsadati, Paria; Yüzbaşıoğlu, Neslihan; Nalbant, Asrın; Örmeci, Tuğrul; Albay, Soner; Ortuğ, Alpen; Sakul, Bayram UfukIntroduction: It is widely known that the production of knee prostheses is based on the morphometric parameters of the distal femur and proximal tibia. Although there have been studies on this subject in different populations in the literature, such a study has not been found in the Turkish population. It is aimed to establish an index and also compare it with previous results of different populations, in this study. Material and Methods: This study was conducted on 200 patients (78 females, 122 males) aged between 18 and 65 years who had magnetic resonance imaging retrospectively. People with previous fractures, dislocations or ruptures, tears, or tensions in the anterior cruciate ligament, history of knee surgery, and trauma were excluded from the study. Various measurements were conducted on images of the distal femur and proximal tibia morphometry. Results: Mean values of the measurements made on the distal femur and proximal tibia were calculated, it was determined that all parameters were higher in males than females. A statistically significant difference was found between the sexes in all the parameters evaluated except for the intercondylar notch height parameter (P < 0.05). According to the results of our study, the mean intercondylar notch width index (NWI) and intercondylar notch shape index (NSI) in the total population were calculated as 0.88 +/- 0.18. There was no statistically significant difference between male and female values for NWI and NSI (P > 0.05). Discussion and Conclusion: In this study, finally, intercondylar notch classification was done. According to this, in 46.5% of cases, notch type, which defined as type A and 53.5% of the notches were identified as U type. None of the cases was classified as W type. Studies in which normal morphometric data are presented due to differences in races between skeletal structures have crucial importance. Therefore, the data obtained from our study are thought to be useful to produce specific knee prostheses.Öğe The protective effect of vitamin E (alphatocopherol) on ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat liver(Wiley-Blackwell, 2016) Shojaolsadati, Paria; Yücel, Ferruh; Öz, Semih; Burukoğlu, Dilek; Özden, Hilmi[Abstract Not Available]
