Öğe Digital trading applications and bank performance: Evidence from Russia(MDPI, 2021) Lisin, Anton; Shvandar, Kristina; Meynkhard, Artur; Uandykova, Mafura; Yüksel, Serhat; Kalmikov, Konstantin; Litvishko, Oleg; Tabachkova, XeniaDigital trading apps are evidence of developing open innovations in the financial sector. The investment industry (including banks and brokers) can greatly benefit from the utilization of digital trading applications and corresponding tools, such as smart contracts. The goal of this research paper is to examine the possibility that brokers’ existing mobile apps outperform banks without mobile apps in the Russian financial sector. The efficiency of brokers is compared to banks in Russia. The results of these institutions’ activities are related to the number of profitable banks, which declines as a sign of high efficiency. The paper uses methods of t-test, linear and polynomial regression analysis between assets (dependent variable) and the profit to assets (independent variable) in Russia. The article finds the different directions of the utilization of the discussed technology, and they all share the consequential growth after the technology’s introduction. The paper also discusses the various areas of digital trading apps implementation and the future contributions for the Russian banking system and economy.Öğe Identifying the best financing sources for renewable energy companies in Latin American Countries(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2021) Dinçer, Hasan; Lisin, Anton; Ubay, Gözde Gülseven; Çağlayan, ÇağatayThe main purpose of this study is to identify the best financing source in order to start a new renewable energy project in Latin America countries. In this case, a large literature on related subject is reviewed. As the result of this analysis, the most-used ways to fund a renewable energy project are determined. By selecting 5 funding options among them, an analysis has been conducted by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in order to weight these criteria set. The findings indicate that government grants and subsidies play the most significant role in order to fund a renewable energy project. In addition to this situation, it is also concluded that using bank loans is another important way for this issue. On the other side, crowdfunding, angel investors and venture capital are on the last ranks in this regard. By taking account these results, it can be said that to increase renewable energy projects government should take actions, give some incentives and facilities government-backed funds for green investors. The biggest disadvantage of renewable energy investments is the high costs. In such investments, especially the initial setup costs are very high. In this context, the tax reduction to be provided by the government to renewable energy investors will contribute to these companies gaining a serious cost advantage. On the other hand, interest-free loans to be given to these investors by the state will also help to increase the efficiency in this process.Öğe The role of european green deal for carbon emission reduction(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Dinçer, Hasan; Uluer, Gülsüm Sena; Lisin, AntonGlobal warming causes drought in the world so that agricultural production will decrease. With less production level, people’s access to food will be difficult. As a result, there will be an imbalance of supply and demand and the problem of inflation will arise. Furthermore, health problems will occur as people cannot eat properly. Due to climate changes caused by global warming, there is also a decrease in water resources. The preference of fossil fuels in energy production is one of the most important reasons for this. As a result of the burning of resources such as coal and oil to produce electricity, a significant amount of carbon gas is released into the atmosphere. Therefore, countries need to increase their clean energy investments. However, the costs of these energy alternatives are very high compared to fossil fuels. This situation does not attract the attention of investors. Therefore, to use clean energy instead of fossil fuels in energy production, the level of awareness on this issue should be increased. The European Green Deal also focuses on solving this climate crisis. In this context, it is aimed to use environmental resources more consciously and efficiently. It is possible to mention certain aims of this study. First, the European Green Deal aims to produce without harming the environment and nature. On the other hand, the elimination of pollution is one of the aims of this study. In this framework, it is argued that the energy sector should be decarbonized and investments in environmentally friendly technologies should be increased.Öğe The social and legislative principles of counteracting ransomware crime(Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Center, 2020) Uandykova, Mafura; Lisin, Anton; Stepanova, Diana; Baitenova, Laura; Mutaliyeva, Lyailya; Yüksel, Serhat; Dinçer, HasanThis article aims to analyze the relationship between the threat of ransomware and new effective counteraction principles for law enforcement agencies to utilize. Moreover, it contemplates on how specific behavior of persons can help reduce the threat of being infected with this malicious software. It establishes that certain changes made in society's mentality towards their computer and network systems can significantly reduce the consequent damages of ransomware attacks. The manuscript uses a qualitative research approach and the analysis of variance (ANOVA), including an F-test, which defines major challenges in ransomware. This is the first empirical research piece which uses this type of data and approach for the analysis of current threats in global ransomware security. The article suggests that the main challenge is the systematic growth of ransomware connected to illegal businesses and the inattentive actions of casual users. The research paper proposes the implementation of global ransomware counteraction principles on the base of challenges that are present now and the prospects of rising threats in the future. In addition, the manuscript analyzes the trends of the last 2-years of attacks to find and determine new ways of successfully counteracting it for optimal innovative regional development.
