Öğe Defining reverse and green supplier selection criteria with a strategic management approach(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Akkartal, Gonca Reyhan; Mızrak, FilizToday, the environmental problems that emerged over time because of industrialization and globalization and the depletion of natural resources have forced businesses and managers to consider environmental factors while determining their management styles. From this perspective, businesses try to add not only economic value but also ecological value to all their activities to increase their environmental performance. Businesses do this by integrating green activities into all their components in the supply chain network and collaborating with suppliers who care about the environment. However, in the realization of environmental awareness and its increasing importance for companies, green and reverse suppliers create budget constraints for businesses and choosing all of them at the same time is extremely challenging financially. In this context, the aim of this study is to reveal the criteria to be considered when choosing reverse and green suppliers by benefiting from the current literature and to shed light on the strategies that companies should develop when choosing suppliers.Öğe Developing a strategic framework for airline destination selection: a multi-criteria decision-making approach applied to Turkish airlines(2025) Mızrak, Filiz; Mızrak, Kağan Cenk; Akkartal, Gonca ReyhanThe purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive decision-making framework that airlines can use to strategically select new destinations, demonstrated here with a case application for Turkish Airlines. Araştırma sonucuna göre Dünyada denizyolu ulaşımının tehditlerin arasında en büyüğünün korsanlık ve haydutluk olduğu ve uluslararası Kuruluşların gemilerin güvenliğe yönelik daha çok çalışma yapması gerektiği ortaya konulmuştur.Öğe Warehouse location decision in medical sector: A fuzzy comparative study in post-covid era(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Tuncalı Yaman, Tutku; Akkartal, Gonca ReyhanWithout a doubt, the location of the warehouse is a momentous decision in the post-Covid era. Considering a contemporary problem, the authors are aimed to reveal changes in the criteria importance determined in the selection of the warehouse location for the medical products. The difference will be unveiled by comparing the actual situation with the results of a previous study that examined pre-Covid phase evaluations of medical sector professionals and reported the criteria’ importance in ware-house location selection. In the earlier study, the Pythagorean fuzzy (PF)-based-DEMATEL was used to find out the criteria importance. In this study, the importance of the criteria in the warehouse location decisions in the medical sector was revealed by making re-evaluations by a decision-making group consisting of industry professionals. In order to create a proper representation of the post-Covid state, the same methodology was applied in the calculation of criteria importance. Thus, compared to pre-Covid phase, the change in the perceived role of proximity to target markets criterion is found on warehouse location decisions in the medical sector.Öğe Warehouse location selection decision systems for medical sector(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2020) Tuncalı Yaman, Tutku; Akkartal, Gonca ReyhanWarehousing as well known, one of the most important parts of logistics. Today, the efficient and safe operation of storage activities are vital for companies. For this reason, companies have to pay attention to many factors when they are going to construct a warehouse. The most important factors are the structure of land, service availability, the geographical location, distance to customs or ports, climate, natural disaster risk, the social structure of the environment, distance to service markets, infrastructure availability (electricity, gas, natural gas), distance to hospitals and pharmacies. The goal of the paper is to evaluate the factors affecting the decision-making process of location selection of a warehouse for medical materials and services. As part of special material handling, medical goods need to be handled much more carefully. That is why, as far as the medical issues concerned additional criteria might be taken into consideration by the decision-makers. The priorities and alternatives will be discussed and ranked in the following part of this research. Besides, basic and supplementary criteria and their interrelation are determined by Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS) based DEMATEL technique in order to be a guide for the medical executives.
