Kriminolojinin tanımı

Abstract

Bu makalede kriminolojinin çeşitli tanımlarına yer verilmiştir. Kriminolojinin tanımlanması zorluğunu Etienne de Greeff’in, “Introduction à la criminologie” Paris, 1948 adlı kitabına yazdığı önsözde Louis Braffort (s. 12) şöyle izah etmektedir: “Bu bilim dalını tanımlamak kolay değildir. Çünkü hem insanla hem de toplumla ilgilidir ve sürekli gelişen ve değişen insanı inceleyen disiplinlerin içinde görülen bütün belirsizlikleri paylaşır.” Dar anlamda kriminoloji, suçluluğun toplumsal ve kişisel nedenlerini araştıran deneysel bir bilimdir. Geniş anlamda kriminoloji ise, “suç olayını bütün yönleriyle inceleyen deneysel bir bilimdir.” Bu anlamda kriminoloji, suç antropolojisi, suç sosyolojisi, suç profilaksisi, suç psikolojisi, penoloji ve suç politikası, tek kelimeyle Von Liszt’in “yardımcı ceza bilimleri” olarak ifade ettiği bütün bilimleri kapsamaktadır.

In this article, various definitions of criminology are given. Louis Braffort explains the difficulty of identifying criminology in preface of Etienne de Greeff’s “Introduction à la criminologie” Paris, 1948 (s. 12): “It is not easy to define this branch of science. Because it concerns both human beings and society and it shares all the uncertainties seen in the disciplines examining the constantly evolving and changing person.” In the strict sense, criminology is an experimental science that investigates the social and personal causes of criminalness. In the broad sense, criminology is an “experimental science that examines all aspects of the crime.” In this sense, criminology includes, crime anthropology, crime sociology, crime prophylaxis, criminal psychology, penology and crime policy, in a word, all the sciences that Von Liszt refers to as the “auxiliary criminal sciences.”
