Treatment of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) during pregnancy can be troublesome. Antiarrhythmic drugs (especially beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers) are frequently used for treatment of symptomatic patients. However, routine and long-term use of these drugs is not recommended because most of them are classified as categories C and D by the US Food and Drug Administration.
