Sağlık yönetimi öğrencilerinin bölümü tercih nedenleri ve akademik motivasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu kesitsel çalışmanın amacı Sağlık Yönetimi bölümünü tercih eden öğrencilerin bölümü tercih nedenlerinin ve akademik motivasyonlarının belirlenmesidir. Çalışma Sağlık Yönetimi bölümünde okuyan 2 vakıf (233 öğrenci) ve 2 devlet üniversitesi (174 öğrenci) öğrencileri ile yapıldı. Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin %82,3'ü kadın, %17,7'si erkek; vakıf üniversitesinde okuyan kadın öğrencilerin oranı %82, erkek öğrencilerin oranı %18; devlet üniversitesinde okuyan kadın öğrencilerin oranı %82,8, erkek öğrencilerin oranı ise %17,2 bulundu. Veri toplama aracı olarak; tanıtıcı bilgi formu, bölüm seçimini etkileyen faktörler ve akademik motivasyon ölçeği kullanıldı. Çalışmada, tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskall-Wallis ve Point-Biseral korelasyon analizi kullanıldı. Bölüm tercih nedenleri arasında "Alanın kendimi geliştirmeme olanak tanıması" (%78,6), "Gelecekle ilgili amaçlarıma uygun olması" (%77,1) ve "Prestijli bir meslek olması" (%70,1) değişkenlerinin ön planda olduğu görüldü. Öğrencilerin akademik motivasyon ölçeği ortalama puanı 129,66±25,26 bulundu. Vakıf üniversitesi öğrencilerinin akademik motivasyon ölçeği puan ortalaması (131,28±24,22), devlet üniversitesi öğrencilerinin puan ortalamasından (127,5±26,5) istatistiksel olarak daha yüksek bulundu (p<0,05). Öğrencilerin bölüm tercih nedenlerinin akademik motivasyon ölçeği ile ilişki analizinde en yüksek ilişki düzeyi akademik motivasyon ölçeği ile "Alanın kendimi geliştirmeme olanak tanıması" (r:0,337), "Gelecekle ilgili amaçlarımı uygun olması" (r:0,306), "Prestijli bir meslek olması" (r:0,284) değişkenlerinde görüldü. Yapılan Regresyon analizinde ise "alanın kendimi geliştirmesine olanak sağladığını" ve "prestijli bir meslek olduğunu" düşünerek bölümü tercih eden öğrencilerin akademik motivasyon düzeyi ile ilişkisi anlamlı bulundu (p=0,001; p=0,027). Sonuç olarak; öğrencilerin bölüm tercihlerinin akademik motivasyonları ile ilişkili olduğu görüldü.

The purpose of this cross-sectional study is to determine the reasons for choosing the Department of Health Management and the academic motivations of the students. The study was conducted with students from 2 foundation (233 students) and 2 state universities (174 students) studying in the Department of Health Management. 82.3% of the students participating in the study were female, 17.7% were male; the rate of female students studying at a foundation university is 82%, the rate of male students is 18%; The rate of female students studying at a state university was 82.8%, while the rate of male students was 17.2%. As a data collection tool; Introductory information form, factors affecting department selection and academic motivation scale were used. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskall-Wallis and Point-Biseral correlation analysis were used in the study. Among the reasons for choosing the department, it was seen that the variables "The field allows me to improve myself" (78.6%), "It is suitable for my future goals" (77.1%) and "Being a prestigious profession" (70.1%). The average score of the students' academic motivation scale was 129.66±25.26. The academic motivation scale mean score of foundation university students (131.28±24.22) was statistically higher than the mean score of state university students (127.5±26.5) (p<0.05). In the analysis of the reasons for choosing the department of the students with the academic motivation scale, the highest level of relationship was with the academic motivation scale, "The field allows me to improve myself" (r:0,337), "It is suitable for my future goals" (r:0,306), "Being a prestigious profession" (r:0.284) variables. In the regression analysis, however, the relationship between the academic motivation level of the students who chose the department, thinking that "the field allows me to develop myself" and "it is a prestigious profession", was found to be significant (p=0.001; p=0.027). As a result; it was seen that the department preferences of the students affected their academic motivation.
