Çocuğu yoğun bakım ünitesinde yatan ebeveynlerin gereksinimleri ve yaşadıkları güçlüklerin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma çocuğu yoğun bakım ünitesinde yatan ebeveynlerin gereksinimlerini ve yaşadıkları güçlükleri belirlemek için yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul ilinde bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinde yatan çocukların ebeveynleri (N=92) oluşturmaktadır. Veriler ebeveynlerin sosyo demografik özellikleri ve yaşadıkları güçlüklere ilişkin soruları içeren bir anket formu ve çocuk yoğun bakım aile gereksinim ölçeği(Aile Formu ) kullanılarak Şubat-Temmuz 2020 tarihleri arasında yüz yüze görüşülerek toplanmıştır. Veriler, tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile birlikte, Shapiro-Wilknormallik testi, anova testi, IndependentSamples t testi, Bonferroni testi, Pearson korelasyon testi ve Q-Q grafikleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmamızda ebeveyn gereksinimlerinin yüksek olduğu (ÇYBAG=165.89±21.38), en fazla yakınlık gereksiniminin duyulduğu, bunu sırasıyla güven, bilgi, destek, rahatlık gereksiniminin takip ettiği belirlenmiştir. Annelerin, babalara göre destek ve rahatlık gereksinimi daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ebeveynlerin %68,5'inin yoğun bakım süreci nedeniyle sosyal hayatta güçlük yaşadığı, %71,7'sinin fiziksel problemler yaşadıkları tespit edilmiştir. Ebeveynlerin en fazla güçlük yaşadıkları durumların; çocuğu için bir şey yapamıyor olmak, çocuğunu kaybetme korkusu ve gelecek kaygısı, çocuğunun yanında olamamak, evde devam edecek tedavi sürecinde kendini yeterli hissetmemek, yeterli bilgi alamamak, kişisel ihtiyaçlarını giderememek, evdeki çocuğa bakamıyor olmak olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda sağlık personelinin, ebeveynlerin gereksinimleri ve yaşadıkları güçlüklerin farkında olarak ihtiyaç duydukları desteğin sağlanması için gerekli düzenlemelerinin yapılması önerilebilir.

This research was conducted to determine the needs and difficulties of parents whose children are hospitalized in the intensive care unit. The sample of the study consists of the parents (N=92) of the children hospitalized in a training and research hospital in Istanbul. The data were collected by face-to-face interviews between February and July 2020, using a questionnaire form containing questions about the socio-demographic characteristics of the parents and the difficulties they experienced, and the child intensive care family need scale (Family Form) (CICFNS). Data were performed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, anova test, IndependentSamples t test, Bonferroni test, Pearson correlation test, and Q-Q charts, along with descriptive statistics. In our study, it was determined that the parental needs were high (CICFNS=165.89±21.38), the need for closeness was the highest, followed by the need for trust, information, support, and comfort, respectively. It has been determined that mothers have a higher need for support and comfort than fathers. It was determined that 68.5% of the parents had difficulties in social life due to the intensive care process, and 71.7% of them had physical problems. The situations in which parents have the most difficulties; It was determined that not being able to do anything for the child, fear of losing the child and anxiety about the future, not being able to be with the child, not feeling enough during the treatment process that will continue at home, not getting enough information, not being able to meet his personal needs, not being able to look after the child at home In line with these results, it can be suggested that the necessary arrangements should be made in order to provide the support they need by being aware of the needs and difficulties of the health personnel and parents.
