The purpose of our study is to determine the effects of body percussion on balance and coordination over the ages. Fifty participants included in the study were equally divided into two groups as study and control groups. The study group had percussion work for 3 days per week. Static balance was evaluated with Romberg, Tandem, Standing on Single Foot and Functional Reach whereas 360 Degree Rotation, Four Square Step Test and Prokin device were used in evaluating dynamic balance. At the same time, the Berg Balance Scale was used for the evaluation of functional balance. The Reaction Time was evaluated by the Ruler Drop Test. Coordination was evaluated with finger nose, supine pronation, knee heel, Lower Extremity Motor Coordination Test, SODA Pop Coordination Test, right and left Disk Touch Test, and right and left Wood Box and Block Test. A second measurement was made after 8 weeks from the first measurement. As a result of our study, Body Percussion has shown significant improvement on coordination and balance. Body percussion can be an option in suggesting physical activities for elderly.en_US
