This study has been designed as a descriptive study to identify the factors that affect life quality in surgical nurses. The sample of the study consists of 210 surgical nurses working in a private hospital (N=210). The data of the study was gathered using a "Personal Information Form" that includes the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants and the Turkish version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment - Short Form. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for double group analyzes and the Kruskal-Wallis H test was used in the comparison of groups of three or more. The IBM SPSS Statistics 20 package program was used to analyze the data. The descriptive statistics of the data are given as percentage values, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values. Among the surgical nurses that participated in the study the highest scores of the quality of life assessment were obtained in the sub-dimension "Physical Function" (85.91±15.11) and the lowest scores (46.90±39.46) were in the "Physical Role" level sub-dimension. When the results of the study were reviewed it was concluded that the quality of life levels of the nurses was affected by the age group. It was concluded that surgical nurses 34 years of age and older had higher scores in the physical role and general health categories and the social function and mental health category scores were higher in the 26-29 age group. Another sub-dimension that affects the quality of life of surgical nurses is the time they have worked at their current hospital. The mean scores of the nurses that had been working in their current hospital for 6 months or less were higher and the difference was statistically significant. The quality of life sub-dimensions increased significantly in surgical nurses that did physical exercises. Recommendations to increase the life quality of life of nurses have also been given in accordance with the data obtained.en_US
