Acrylamide (ACR) has the potential for cytotoxic and genotoxic effects by decreasing oxidative defense system and is known to be neurotoxic, hepatotoxic and carcinogenic to humans. Carnitine plays an important role in the transport of long-chain fatty acids through the mitochondrial membrane for their beta-oxidation and in ATP production in peripheral tissues. The purpose of the study is conducted for determine the effect of carnitine on acrylamide induced tissue injury in rats.
