Ebrû sanatı ve bir ritüel deneyimi olarak ebrû yapımı

Abstract

Son dönemde öne çıkan klâsik sanat dallarından biri olan ebrû, ilgi gören bir sanat olmasının yanında, bu sanatı gerçekleştiren kişiler açısından da önemli özellikler taşımaktadır. Ebrû’ya ilgi gösterenler, bu sanata gerek bireysel gerekse sosyal bir faaliyet olarak bakmaktadırlar. Bireysel açıdan hem popüler hem de klâsik bir sanat olmasının etkisi olduğu söylenebilir. Ancak ebrû ile ilgilenmenin, ebrûyu bir uğraş, hobi ya da profesyonel iş olarak görmenin sosyal birliktelik açısından birçok sebep ve sonucu vardır. Ebrûyu, ilgilisinin tek başına olduğu tekne başı ortamının ötesinde, sosyal antropolojik açıdan tekrarlanan ve paylaşılan bir faaliyet olarak ele aldığımızda, ebrû yapmanın ritüel taraflarını görebiliriz. Bireyi diğer bireylerle bir araya getiren, hem yaparken hem de sergilerken paylaşılan bir ortam sağlayan ve bu ortam içinde zaman-mekân birlikteliğini ortaya çıkarıp kişilere soyut hâller ve mânevî hisler tecrübe ettiren Ebrû sanatı, ebrûcuya hem tekrarlanamayan bireysel deneyim hem de sosyal bir birliktelik kurma ve yaşanmışlığa sâhip olma imkânı vermektedir. Ebrû sanatı ve ebrûcular, kültürel antropolojinin önemli bir araştırma alanı olan ritüeller açısından el değmemiş bir konudur. Bu makalede ebrû yapımının her aşaması, bu aşamaların ebrûcu tarafından deneyimlenmesi ve sosyal bir ortamda paylaşılmasını ele alıp; bu hususları kişisel deneyim ve gözlemlerden yararlanarak “ritüel” anlayışı ile ortaya konulmaktadır.

Ebru, as one of the branches of classical art that have recently stood out, in addition to being attractive, has some features which are significant for those who are in this branch of art. Those who are interested in Ebru consider it both as a personal and social activity. From personal point of view, it is not only a popular but also a classical art. However, the interest in ebru as a social activity has many causes and effects as a hobby and a profession. Beyond Ebru maker's personal experience in front of the basin, when we can consider Ebru as an activity that is repeated and shared, we can see its aspects as a ritual. Ebru provides the participants with a common space both in making and exhibiting. It exposes time and space unity while making the makers with some abstract states and spiritual rehearsals. Ebru also provides the ebru makers with oppurtunity to have personal experience and feel the sense of social togetherness, which is indeed a one time experience. Art of ebru and ebru makers are not researched from ritual perspectives in cultural anthropology. In this paper, every stage of making ebru and how these stages are experienced by the maker and how they are shared in a social setting are explained. These issues are approached from a ritual point of view considering the personal experiences and observations.
