This study was conducted to determine the views of the parents whose children were hospitalized in the hospital on the comparison of their fears of Covid-19 and their hygiene behaviors. The population of the study consisted of the parents of the children accompanying them in the inpatient units of a state hospital in Istanbul, and the sample consisted of 233 parents who volunteered to participate in the study in the same units. Data were collected using the "Descriptive Information Form", "Covid-19 Hygiene Scale" and "Covid-19 Fear Scale". It was found that 96.6% (n:225) of the parents were female and 36.1% were university graduates. The parents' "Covid-19 fear scale total" mean was 18,416±6.705, and the "hygiene behavior total" mean was 100,283±19,921. A weak positive correlation was found between the Covid-19 fear scale total scores of the sample group and the Hygiene Behavior Scale total scores (p<0.05). The regression analysis performed to determine the cause-effect relationship between the sum of fear of Covid-19 and the sum of hygiene behaviors was found to be significant (p<0.05). There was a significant difference between parents' fear of Covid-19 scores and gender, number of children, number of people living at home, and their child's fear of contracting Covid-19 (p<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between the parents' total scores of hygiene behavior and gender, education level, employment status, health insurance, duration of marriage, number of people living at home, previous Covid-19 exposure, vaccination status, losing a relative due to Covid-19 before, and the worry of their child catching Covid-19. relationship was detected (p>0.05). Fear of Covid-19 affects hygiene behaviors in hospitalized parents. Developing public health awareness and raising awareness for Covid-19 infectious diseases and other epidemic diseases, increasing training on epidemic diseases in hospitals, especially for parents who are in the vulnerable group and hospitalized, healthcare personnel transfer their knowledge and experience to parents during the epidemic, being ready for future epidemics parents and authorities should pay more attention to the epidemic disease guide.
