The impact of climate change on construction activity performance
Oruç, Sertaç; Dikbaş, Hüseyin Attila; Gümüş, Berkin; Yücel, İsmail
There are specific construction operations that require weather forecast data to make short-term decisions regarding construction; however, most resource-related decision making and all project management plans must be carried out to anticipate weather conditions beyond the capabilities of the currently available forecasting technologies. In this study, a series of single- and multi-risk analyses were performed with 9 km grid resolution over Turkiye using combinations of weather and climate variables and their threshold values which have an impact on the execution and performance of construction activities. These analyses will improve the predictability of potential delays, enable the project to be scheduled on a future-proof basis by considering the calculated normal and periodic predictions on the grid scale, and serve as a dispute resolution tool for related claims. A comprehensive case study showcasing the methodology and illustrating its application shows that the project duration is expected to be extended because of the impact of climate on both historical and future periods. While the original project duration was 207 days, when climate effects were considered, the optimum mean and median values increased to 255 and 238 days, respectively, for the historical period. The optimum duration mean and median change to 239 days by the end of the century, according to the SSP5-8.5 scenario, if the construction schedules consider climate change. The change in duration was mainly due to rising temperatures, which increased winter workability and reduced summer workability. However, if the historical practices are carried over to future schedules, the mean and median increase to 258 days and 244 days, respectively, which may cause unavoidable direct, indirect, or overhead costs.

Building production processes planning and management in classical greek era; comparison with contemporary practices
Yılmaz, İbrahim
Through the example of the Classical Greek Era, the study focuses on seeking an answer to the question of whether managerial techniques and strategies were developed in building production processes in ancient times. The study aims to identify and examine the stages planned in the building production processes and the construction management and organization techniques developed during the Classical Greek period (VI.-IV. century BCE), which played an important role in the development of building art and to compare the practices of the Era with today's construction and management practices. The research methodology is based on the interpretation of historical data from the Classical Greek Era, consisting of construction texts written on stone slabs and their epigraphic explanations, and the comparison of the practices of the Era with contemporary practices. The stone slab samples with the construction texts used in the study were taken from the Sara B. Aleshire Center for Greek Epigraphic Studies catalogs at the University of Berkeley. The epigraphically analyzed descriptions of these inscriptions by different authors were obtained by searching the literature sources through the catalog numbers given to the samples. In the classical Greek Era, three main administrative public bodies made decisions on construction, planning, and managing the construction processes. These include the Senate, Ecclesia (people's assembly), and building commissions. By the decision of the people's assembly, building commissions were established to manage and supervise the construction process from a financial, administrative, and technical perspective. This research has contributed to the understanding that today's building production strategies and management theories have their roots in ancient times, thereby contributing to the universality of construction and management theory. Due to the dynamic nature of the research, the period analyzed was also compared with the current production management theories. The study's uniqueness lies in interpreting historical documents and observing and comparing current conditions. Hence, while the construction and management systems in the Classical Greek period are understood, two different processes are analyzed in their own contexts, and their differences and similarities are highlighted.

Bayes Ağları ile kriterlerin ağırlıklarının belirlenmesi Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci yönteminde verilerin tutarlılığını sağlamış ve sistemi daha esnek hale getirmiştir.; Public spaces are a meeting point in the city, where different individuals meet and spend time together. Transportation options for these areas may not always be the same due to the changing demands of individuals. It is important that the preferences are not the same and not directed to the same option in order to ensure diversity in the use of public space. For this reason, in the study, a personalized transportation model between two public spaces is proposed. Analytical Hierarchy Process and Bayesian Networks are used as methods in the study. The transportation options that will be evaluated in the Analytical Hierarchy Process method are discussed within the scope of micromobility studies. Sample routes have been created for cycling, electric scooters and walking action. Literature reviews have been made for the criteria determining the choice of routes and threshold values have been removed. However, the importance of the criteria and the suitability of the routes may also change according to the different preferences of the users. For this reason, Bayesian Networks, where we can observe the dynamic variability of user preferences in determining the weight of the criteria, are included in the model.

Makalede; ekoköyde sağlık yapısı-iklim denkleminde geliştirilen uygulama projesi süreci ele alınmaktadır.; The global increase in energy consumption with the latest point of today's building technology raises concerns about energy resources. With the globalization in the world, the growing economy and the developments in living standards, the possibility of meeting the increasing demands with available natural resources is gradually decreasing. The fact that natural resources are decreasing at a level that poses a threat especially for the future of the world draws attention to the search for new energy resources and the issue of protecting existing resources. For this reason, policies aimed at protecting natural resources are also seen in the construction sector. In the face of these negative developments for all the world, students as actors of the future construction sector; Being aware of the sustainability principles in the design and implementation processes is important in terms of their education. It is among the main objectives of architecture and interior architecture education that the students of architecture and interior architecture experience the theoretical knowledge they have acquired through Design-Build workshops. Within this scope; this study was put into practice with the aim of contributing to design education by providing the students of architecture and interior architecture with experience of design and application practice on a field scale along with environmentally friendly approaches. The design process and details of the Büyükkonuk Ecovillage Primary Care Clinic Project, which is in the list of registered eco villages in the world, are presented as an example of a professional practice integrated into the education process in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In this context; Within the currently approved TRNC Büyükkonuk ecoköy campus, a design study was carried out with the field where observation, on-site detection, workshops and official meetings were held. In the article; This as-built project process, which was developed in the eco-village-health structure-climate equation, is discussed.
