Energy costs have become a very important problem for businesses, especially in recent years. As a result of these high costs, businesses may experience financial problems. If this situation cannot be managed effectively, the profitability of the enterprises will decrease. This will put the long-term sustainability of businesses at risk. This problem is also very important for hospitals. Recently, the energy costs of hospitals have started to become very serious among the total costs. As a result, the need for hospitals to produce their own energy arose. This will help hospitals achieve energy independence. As a result, it will be possible for energy costs to be more manageable in the long run. In this study, the effect of small-scale wind turbines on the competitiveness of hospitals was analyzed. In this context, four different criteria based on balanced scorecard have been determined. The importance of these criteria was tested with the fuzzy DEMATEL method.

Strategic pathway determination for a state hospital in terms of an integrated facility management system
Gedikli, Erman; Demir Uslu, Yeter
The purpose of this study is to develop strategies to provide effective, efficient, and patient safety facility management in a public hospital. Exploratory sequential mixed method research design was employed. Quantitative approaches were used in the second stage of the investigation after qualitative methods in the first stage. The universe of the research consists of all the staff. The criterion sampling technique was applied during the qualitative phase. In the first phase 39 managers were interviewed individually as part of data collection process. To assess the priority of the need group, the AHP questionnaire was used to seven managers in ultimate decision-making positions during the second phase of data collecting. Finally, decision-makers should prioritize taking action to address the needs identified under the respective topics of emergency preparedness and business continuity, humanfactors, and communication, respectively. The environmental management and sustainability was determined as the last priority group.

The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between smoking, health expenditures, and budget balance. For this purpose, a two-stage analysis has been performed. Firstly, in order to identify the relationship between these three variables, the Pedroni cointegration method is taken into consideration. In this scope, the data set of ten countries with the highest smoking rate is included. The second part of the analysis includes the identification of the appropriate strategies to reduce smoking. Within this framework, AHP methodology is considered to weigh the strategies. It is obtained that there is a strong and long-term relationship between smoking, health expenditure, and budget balance. This situation gives information that when the smoking rate increases in a country, health expenditures will be higher. Similarly, the increase in health expenditures also leads to a higher debt burden. Thus, it is obvious that the most appropriate strategy is to take action in order to reduce smoking. According to AHP results, it is also identified that additional tax is the most significant strategy to minimize smoking in these countries. On the other side, education has the second highest weight. It is determined that the most optimal strategy for reducing smoking is to increase the tax rate for cigarette sales.

Evaluating critical points for the improvement of nuclear energy investments via text mining methodology
Eti, Serkan; Gökalp, Yaşar
The study aims to determine the developments in nuclear energy. In addition, it is aimed to determine strategies for future study and research areas. For this purpose, the studies in literature are included in the scope of analysis. In the literature, studies with the keyword “nuclear energy” in the web of science database have been taken into consideration. When the studies were examined, it was seen that there were 333 articles on nuclear energy between 1993 and 2022. It is seen that the studies on nuclear energy have increased after 2015. In recent years, the interest of researchers on this subject has increased and text mining methods have been used to determine the subject or topics discussed. As a result of the analysis made for the frequency of the words in the abstracts of the articles containing the keyword nuclear energy, it is seen that words such as renewability, economy, emissions, development, and growth come to the forefront. As a result, it is seen that academic studies on nuclear energy compare this energy source with renewable and clean energy. It is also concluded that they investigated the effects of nuclear energy on the country’s economy and its reflections on economic growth.
