It was conducted as a descriptive study to determine the sensitivity of students studying in the nursing department towards child neglect and abuse. The research was carried out with 225 students studying in the nursing department of a foundation in the 2020-2021 academic year. The data in the study were obtained by using the Personal Information Form and the Scale of Sensitivity to Violence Against Children. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. It was determined that the mean scores of the Susceptibility to Violence Against Child Scale of the students who were 20 years of age or younger, went to the first or second grade, and were male, studying in the nursing department participating in the research, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (respectively; p=0.043, p=0.014). , p≤0.001). It was determined that the mean scores of the students living in nuclear families on the Susceptibility to Violence against Children Scale were and than the students living in the extended family, and the students living in the extended family were higher than the students living in the broken family (p≤0.001). It has been determined that the mean scores of the students whose mother's education level is university graduate and above, the students whose father's education level is secondary school, high school, university graduate and above, and the students whose family attitudes are irrelevant, are lower and the difference between the groups is statistically significant (respectively; p=0.040, p=0.001, p=0.006). When the mean scores of the Susceptibility to Violence Against Child Scale were examined according to the state of self-efficacy regarding child abuse and neglect, it was found that the nursing department students who considered themselves completely inadequate had lower mean scores on the Susceptibility to Violence Against Child Scale and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (p=0.002). In conclusion, it is thought that students' awareness can be increased by including the subjects related to child neglect and abuse in the content of the course during their education.
