Araştırmanın amacı, COVID-19 pandemisi sürecinde hemşirelerin iş güvenliğine ilişkin görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırmanın örneklemini Sakarya ilinde yer alan üç kamu hastanesinde çalışan 160 hemşire oluşturdu. Araştırma verileri, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan, hemşirelerin kişisel özellikleri, çalışma koşulları, mesleki hastalık/şikayetler ve iş kazası/yaralanma durumları ve pandemi sürecinde alınan iş güvenliği önlemleri ile ilgili dört bölümden oluşan anket formu aracılığıyla toplandı. Verilerin analizinde ortalama, standart sapma, medyan, frekans, oran değerleri, Pearson Chi-Square Test, Fisher's Exact Test, Kruskal Wallis ve Mann Whitney U test kullanıldı. Araştırmada hemşirelerin yarısından fazlası (%66,4) COVID-19 hastalığı geçirmiş olduğunu, (%71,3) kişisel koruyucu ekipmanları yeterli kalitede bulmadığını, (%68,8) çalışma ortamının uygun ve yeterli düzeyde havalandırılmadığını, (%67,5) farklı alanlardan görevlendirilen hemşirelere oryantasyon eğitimlerinin yapılmadığını belirtti. Hemşirelerin mesleki hastalık ve şikâyet puan ortalaması 29.4±16.2 ve pandemi sürecinde kurumun çalışanlara verdiği destek puanı ortalaması 4.1±2.5 bulundu. Pandemi sürecinde hemşirelerin yarısından fazlasının (%60) işten ayrılmayı düşündüğü, çoğunluğunun (%74,4) çalışan sağlığı ve güvenliği politikalarından memnun olmadığı ve (%76,9) alınan iş güvenliği önlemlerini kısmen yeterli bulduğu saptandı. Sürekli gündüz çalışan, iş kazası geçirmeyen, COVID-19 geçirmeyen, pandemi sürecinde iş güvenliği eğitimi alan, işten ayrılmayı düşünmeyen hemşirelerin iş güvenliği önlemlerini yeterli bulma durumu diğer hemşirelere göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulundu (p<0,05). The aim of the study is to examine the opinions of nurses on occupational safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 160 nurses working in three public hospitals in Sakarya. The research data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of four parts, prepared by the researcher, about the personal characteristics of nurses, working conditions, occupational diseases/complaints and occupational accidents/injuries, and occupational safety measures taken during the pandemic process. Mean, standard deviation, median, frequency, ratio values, Pearson Chi-Square Test, Fisher's Exact Test, Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U test were used in the analysis of the data. In the study, more than half of the nurses (66.4%) had COVID-19 disease, (71.3%) did not find the personal protective equipment of sufficient quality, (68.8%) the working environment was not adequately ventilated, (67.5%) stated that orientation training was not given to nurses assigned from different fields. The mean score of occupational diseases and complaints of nurses was 29.4±16.2, and the mean score of support given to employees by the institution during the pandemic process was 4.1±2.5. It was determined that more than half of the nurses (60%) thought to leave the job during the pandemic process, the majority (74.4%) were not satisfied with the employee health and safety policies and (76.9%) found the occupational safety measures taken to be partially sufficient. It was found that the nurses who were constantly working during the day, did not have a work accident, did not have COVID-19, received occupational safety training during the pandemic, and did not think of quitting the job, found the occupational safety measures to be adequate compared to the other nurses (p<0.05).
